Welcome to Shoestring Filter!

We are a daughter-father photography/blogger team based in the DC Metro Area. When my dad was in grad school, he studied zoology. To help him with record keeping when doing his research in the jungle, he turned to photography and the rest is history. Growing up around someone as passionate about photography as he is, some of it was bound to rub off. I had my first SLR when I was 8 and my first DSLR when I was 12. From there I too formed a bit of a photographic obsession. This past summer, my dad and I decided to funnel our efforts into something a bit more tangible than just having terabytes of photographs sitting on drives. Thus, Shoestring Filter was born.

Here’s just a quick run-down of what you can expect from us:
